Man arrested after walking onto Alcorn Central campus
ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Quick action by a school resource officer lands one man in jail.
The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office reported that a man walked onto the Alcorn Central campus.
The man is an alleged student’s grandfather and did not have authorized access to the student.
An SRO approached the suspect in the parking lot, before a brief struggle. The suspect attempted to pull a firearm before the school resource officer de-escalated the situation.
The suspect was taken to the Alcorn County jail and is awaiting his charges.
Law enforcement says this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the area.
