Man arrested on weapons charges by Columbus PD

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two weapons and a wanted felon are now off the streets in Columbus.

On Tuesday, Kenny Riheam Armistad was arrested on Waterworks Road by Columbus police officers.

An AR-15 with a drum feed, and a glock handgun with an extended clip, were recovered during the arrest.

The 23-year-old faces Possession of a Weapon by a Felon charges.

The Columbus man, was also charged with several outstanding “Failure to Appear” warrants.

Police Chief Fred Shelton said Armistad was wanted for questioning in several other open cases by investigators.

Shelton said since the other cases are still active, no other details would be given, however additional charges could still be filed.

Armistad was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
