Man Arrested After Passing Out In McDonald’s Drive Thru
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Booneville man is arrested in the parking lot of a McDonald’s after passing out in the drive-thru.
Around 12:30 am on May 20th, Booneville Police got a 911 call from McDonald’s saying a man in a maroon-colored SUV was passed out in the driver’s seat and blocking the drive-thru window.
When officers arrived at the fast food restaurant, they saw a maroon
Ford Taurus SUV with the driver, identified as 32-year-old Jackie Fields, passed out with the windows up and the engine running.
Officer Taylor Walker went around to the passenger side of the vehicle and when he found that the doors were locked, he went to the driver’s side and managed to get his arm through a cracked window to unlock the doors.
That’s when Walker said he noticed the vehicle was still in drive and that Fields had his foot on the brake, keeping it in place. He reached over and put the car in park and after several attempts, eventually managed to wake Fields up.
Walker says when he asked Fields for his license and proof of insurance, he kept reaching around as if confused, so Walker had him step out the car for safety concerns.
When Fields refused, Officer Walker took him by his left arm and escorted him out, where another officer, Allen, took him to the side of the vehicle and patted him down.
Walker says he saw an unlabeled pill bottle in plain view, and when he took it out, he found Clonazepam, a schedule IV controlled substance, and a joint.
He also says he found what looked like a meth pipe and a baggie of meth.
The vehicle Fields was in belonged to his parents.
Fields was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Meth and possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at
