Man Charged in 3 State Crime Spree Pleads Guilty in Kansas Case

PRATT, Kan. A Mississippi man suspected of killing and wounding people in Mississippi, New Mexico, and Kansas pleads guilty to charges in the Kansas case.

ALEX BRIDGES DEATON

Alex Bridges Deaton of Philadelphia pleaded guilty to attempted first – degree murder and aggravated robbery in association with the shooting of a convenience store clerk in Pratt, Kansas back in March.

Deaton’s alleged crime spree started in Rankin County, where he is accused of first degree murder in the strangulation death of his girlfriend. He also faces auto theft and drive-by shooting charges there.

Deaton is also the prime suspect in the death of a woman in Neshoba County.

He also allegedly carjacked a couple in New Mexico before making his way to Kansas.
