Man charged with Attempted Murder, accused of shooting girlfriend

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Calhoun County woman is released from the hospital Monday after being shot in the abdomen.

Now, her boyfriend of 20 years is in jail.

Ralph Longstreet, 66, is charged with Attempted Murder.

Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says the shooting happened on County Road 231 this past Saturday night.

Investigators believe an argument led to the gunfire.

Pollan says Longstreet shot into the front of a mobile home with a shotgun two times, missing the victim.

Longstreet is then accused of going around to the back of the house with the same gun and firing two more times and that’s when she was struck.

The victim was released from the hospital Monday afternoon.
