Man charged with murder in Lauderdale County

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – In December of 2024, around 2 pm., deputies responded to an E-911 call reporting that a female had been shot at a residence in the 4000 block of York Road.

When deputies arrived, they found a female victim lying on the floor inside the home.

After the scene was secured, Metro Ambulance personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, the victim died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Alexis Deshanna House.

After further investigation involving numerous interviews, physical evidence, and the finalized autopsy report, investigators arrested twenty-eight-year-old Ja’Carrius LaShon Gaddis of Lauderdale on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Gaddis was in a domestic relationship with the victim.

He has been charged with Murder.

His bond was set at $250,000, and he has been released on bond from the Lauderdale County Detention Facility.

This case will be presented to the next available grand jury.
