Man fails to yield to right of way for state trooper, lands behind bars

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi’s “Move Over” law landed a man in jail and facing several charges.

Frank Hamler Jr., 32, was charged with Failing to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Lowndes County investigators said a deputy saw a vehicle that failed to yield the right of way to a state trooper who was responding to another call for service on Monday night.

Hamler was pulled over on East Hemlock Drive in Columbus.

He remains in jail.
