Man pleads guilty to shooting near Eupora High School

EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) – A Eupora man will spend nearly six years in federal prison for shooting his gun on the high school campus.

Nathaniel Cole Breazeale, 20, pled guilty to having the gun illegally and then shooting it near the school in March of last year.

Chief U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock sentenced Breazeale to serve 71 months in prison.

Court documents showed that Breazeale drove a motorcycle around the band practice fields at Eupora High School, pulled out a 9mm pistol and fired multiple shots at the school building.

At least one of the rounds struck an occupied van in the carpool lane.

The US Attorney William C Lamar said that students and parents ran for cover and the high school was placed on lockdown.

Aycock ordered Breazeale to undergo drug treatment as a part of his supervised release.
