Police say an investigator was trying to arrest Leach and an unidentified passenger when the suspects fled.

The officer was injured during the pursuit, then treated and released the same day.

Although he was under the watch of the Department of Corrections, Leach’s electronic monitor didn’t work due to lack of charge.

Leach is being held at the Prentiss County jail on a Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer charge.

Bond is set at $100,000 with additional charges possible.
