Man Wanted For Assaulting A Police Officer Turns Himself In
PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Booneville man, wanted for assaulting an officer, is arrested after over 10 days since starting the investigation.
Omar Leach, 27, turned himself into Booneville Police earlier this morning.
Police say an investigator was trying to arrest Leach and an unidentified passenger when the suspects fled.
The officer was injured during the pursuit, then treated and released the same day.
Although he was under the watch of the Department of Corrections, Leach’s electronic monitor didn’t work due to lack of charge.
Leach is being held at the Prentiss County jail on a Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer charge.
Bond is set at $100,000 with additional charges possible.
