Memorial Day Enforcement Period totals released

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Several accidents were investigated over the Memorial Day Travel Enforcement Period.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 148 crashes were investigated, including one fatality in Jackson County.

During patrols, MHP issued over 7,200 citations and nearly 160 DUI arrests.

53 injuries were reported on state, federal highways, and interstates during the holiday weekend.

The enforcement period began Friday at 12:01 a.m., and ended Monday at midnight.
