Mississippi State Unveils 2016-17 SEC Men’s Basketball Conference Slate

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Year 2 of the Ben Howland era welcomes Alabama to Humphrey Coliseum on Tuesday, Jan. 3 to officially usher in the 2017 SEC slate.

Mississippi State’s 18-game ledger features home and away matchups with the Crimson Tide, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina and Ole Miss.

It’s a schedule that also features the return to CBS for the first time since 2012 when Texas A&M visits the Hump for a noon showdown on Jan. 14.

“It’s both a very challenging and exciting schedule in the SEC,” said Howland, who landed the nations No. 4 recruiting class. “We have five different home-and-homes with extremely strong programs, and the other eight games are equally as tough. I’m excited and looking forward to the challenge of competing against the best teams in the SEC.”

The other home games feature perennial power Kentucky, Missouri, Florida.

On the road, MSU travels to Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
