Monroe CO Stabbing Suspect Caught

MONROE CO, Miss. (WCBI)-The suspect accused in a Monroe County stabbing has been caught.

According to Monroe County Sheriff, Cecil Cantrell, Jason Chance, 43, was arrested Wednesday.

He’s accused of stabbing Dusty Fretwell, in the neck, on Friday.

Investigators say, paramedics were called to the Cal Kola Chevron Gas Station, in Caledonia, where they found the victim.

The stabbing originally happened on Wolfe road, in Monroe county.

Someone tried to drive the victim to the hospital in Columbus. As they were en route, the driver pulled over at the gas station, and called 911.

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries.

Chance faces one count of aggravated assault. He’s in the Monroe County Detention Center, waiting to be arraigned.
