Mooreville student arrested for threatening to shoot up school

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Mooreville student was accused of threatening to “shoot up the school and everyone in it.”

In a Facebook post, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department said the student also made other threats.

The unidentified student was arrested, after a school resource officer received copies of a text message exchange between two students.

Deputies and educators said the relationship the SRO has with students is the reason why the issue was resolved quickly.

The student was taken to the juvenile detention center.
