More charges for man accused of possessing counterfeit money

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Additional charges have been brought against a man accused of possessing thousands of dollars in fake money.

Timothy Scott Mackin had previously been charged on December 21 with possession of over $9,000 in counterfeit bank notes and payroll checks with intent to utter.

Now, Boonville Police Department said Mackin is accused of stealing the identify of a dead woman in Corinth and using lines of credit to buy merchandise online.

Mackin faces additional similar charges from Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department.

The US Secret Service has joined the investigation.

Mackin is currently being held without bond.
