MSU star Vivians boards plane bound for WNBA Draft in New York

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State senior and star basketball player Victoria Vivians is preparing for the 2018 WNBA Draft.

Vivians boarded a plane for New York at the Golden Triangle Regional Airport earlier this morning.

She was getting ready to fly out for Thursday’s big draft.

The talented player flew out solo, but says her step-mom and dad, along with Coach Vic Schaefer and his wife, will be at the draft.

She says this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“It’s surreal you know, growing up I never expected to be a WNBA player until I knew I was just good and then coming to college and actually doing it and making it, it feels great,” says Vivians.

The draft is taking place at the Nike New York Headquarters.

Vivians is projected to be a first round pick.
