MSU’s Bibby Out For The Year

STARKVILLE, Miss. (MSU Athletics) – Mississippi State sophomore forward Chloe Bibby will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a left knee injury against South Carolina, head coach Vic Schaefer announced on Friday.

Bibby left Thursday night’s game early in the first quarter.

“Chloe has worked so hard to be where she is today,” Schaefer said. “My heart is broken for her. If I know Chloe, she will come back bigger, faster and stronger than ever before and will be tireless in her pursuit of excellence.”

Bibby played in 18 games for the Bulldogs this year, including Thursday’s contest. Entering the South Carolina game, she was MSU’s fourth-leading scorer, averaging 12.6 points per game. She led the squad with 36 three-pointers, making them at a 45.0 percent clip.

MSU (17-1, 5-0 SEC) returns to the floor on Thursday, Jan. 24 when the Bulldogs travel to take on Florida in Gainesville. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT with the game airing on SEC Network+.
