Women leaders meet to inspire at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – New Leadership Mississippi is taking place this week at Mississippi University for Women.
It’s a partnership between MUW and the John C. Stennis Center for Public Service.
Its purpose is to educate college women about the impact they can have in public service and politics.
Tuesday, participants heard from several women who are successful in those areas.
This session shines light on types of political activities and opportunities that students may not have thought about.
“Learn how to be proactive in moving more women into Mississippi public service because more than half of the population of Mississippi is female and a very small percentage of Mississippi is in public service, when you talk about Mississippi women are in public service,” said New Leadership Mississippi Bridget Smith-Pischel.
Our very own Aundrea Self was one of the guest speakers at the event.
