New Mexico kidnapping victim found in North Mississippi

ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Two people from Georgia behind bars accused of kidnapping a teenager from New Mexico. The duo, arrested in North Mississippi.

Didier Gonzales, 25, is charged with kidnapping and Blanca Vazquez, also 25, faces misdemeanor charges.

Both were charged by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Monday, troopers got a call just after 2:00 p.m. of a kidnapped 14-year-old girl traveling in a white van on Interstate 22 in Itawamba County.

Troopers spotted the vehicle then pulled it over.

Inside the van, troopers found the girl.

Both Gonzales and Vazquez remain in the Itawamba County Jail.

The young teen is in custody of Child Protective Services until her parent’s get to Mississippi.

The case is still being investigated by the MBI, FBI and Espinola Police Department in New Mexico.
