Noxubee County man sentenced for killing his wife

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Noxubee County killer will spend more than three decades in prison for killing his wife.

Allen Bell must serve 33 years behind bars. Judge Jim Kitchens ordered Bell to serve every day of the sentence.

He pled guilty, last year, to second-degree murder.

Bell told the court he killed Nikita Wilson because he thought she was cheating on him.

Wilson’s body was found on Butler Road in Noxubee County in August 2017.

She was originally reported missing the month before by Choctaw Tribal Police.

The sentencing puts closure on the criminal side of this case but there will still be difficult days ahead.

“The district attorney is pleased he received a lengthy sentence. We think it is appropriate for the nature of the crime. The family, at this point, has to miss birthdays, Christmas, and Thanksgiving and other important holidays for just a couple of years that this has been pending. The sad reality is they are going to miss their loved one for every Christmas and every birthday,” said assistant district attorney Colleen Hudson.

Multiple agencies investigated the case, including the FBI, Noxubee County deputies, and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
