Noxubee County Promotes Young To Head Coach

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — Noxubee County high school has promoted offensive coordinator Teddy Young to head football coach.

Young, who played at Noxubee County from 2005-2008, coached as an assistant under Tyrone Shorter for the past three seasons.

Continuing the championship pedigree in Macon, Young was a part of the school’s first state championship in 2008 as a player, and was a coach during the program’s most recent title in 2017.

Noxubee County school board leaders said seven interviews were conducted, and twenty applicants applied for the position.
