MACON, Miss. (WCBI) –  The Noxubee County School District honors the people who’ve spent their careers in education.

Several of Friday’s (5-24) honorees served more than thirty years in the classroom.

Educators from Earl Nash, Wilson, B-F Liddell and Noxubee County High all received well-deserved praise for their hard work.

Some were teachers, others counselors, and some worked in food service, but they all helped children grow up to become productive adults.

Earl Nash Elementary School teacher Earl Dew says, ” When I first started, you could just walk in a room and just look at children and they would sit up with attention, but now, sometimes they just wait to see what you are going to say next. Students have changed. A lot of things have changed in 25 years. ”

Earl Nash teacher Lucille Morris was the longest serving honoree.

Her teaching career began way back in 1971.
