NYPD detective killed by friendly fire

New York City police are investigating the death of detective Brian Simonsen, shot and killed by friendly fire. Officers responded to an apparent armed robbery at a T-Mobile store Tuesday night. They opened fire when a man armed with what turned out to be a fake handgun moved toward them.
