Ole Miss Top Lawyer Steps Down
OXFORD (WCBI) – University of Mississippi General Counsel Lee Tyner is leaving that job at the end of the fiscal year.

TYNER
Tyner has worked for Ole Miss for 19 years and served as the chief legal counsel since 2003. An Ole Miss statement says the Columbus native is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Tyner has been criticized by some recently for not being more aggressive in defending the school’s football program against the claims of illegal recruiting by the NCAA. The school did not address if that played a role in Tyner’s decision to resign, Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter has appointed Perry Sansing to take over the role January 1st while the search for a new General Counsel takes place.
