One injured in Columbus wreck

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A scary two-car crash sent a Columbus woman to the hospital Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 45 North, near Spur Line Road, about 11:30 a.m.

State troopers said the car Renate Sellers was driving tried to cross Highway 45 and collided with a Jeep driven by Justin Stokes of West Memphis, Arkansas.

Traffic was backed up as crews cleared the scene.

Sellers was taken to the hospital with injuries. Stokes was not injured.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
