One injured, one arrested in Winona shooting

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) – One man was injured and another was arrested in a Winona shooting.

Rodney Peery, 44, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault.

Investigators said Peery shot Eddie Green at the Pilot Truck Stop, just off Highway 82, about 10:40 a.m.

Police believed the two have had an ongoing argument.

There were two children inside of Green’s vehicle when he was shot and another vehicle was struck by a bullet. That’s why Peery facing four charges.

Green was taken to a Jackson hospital. His condition is unknown. He was arrested in April 2019 for shooting on Academy Street. It is unknown if that is related to Wednesday’s incident.

Peery’s bond was set at $100,000.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Duck Hill Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation.
