Video: One Local Area Celebrates The Success Of Its Economic Development

VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI)-Calhoun County residents celebrated the past, and looked forward to the future on Thursday night when The Calhoun Economic Development Association hosted its annual banquet.

Derick Ziegler was the keynote speaker. He’s a regional vice president with Baptist Memorial Health Care.

The county honored business and manufacturing companies, and the mayors in the area gave out awards to deserving people who have played a big part in the area’s economic development.

“The main thing is recognizing the industries and the businesses that are doing well in the county, and also some individuals who mean a lot to the different municipalities and that have done a lot over the years for the county,” said Mayor James Casey of Vardaman.

This year the banquet was held in Vardaman for the very first time.
