One man is behind bars after car chase

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Friday afternoon police chase leaves one man behind bars.

37-year-old James Gregory is charged with Felony Fleeing, Reckless driving, possession of meth, DUI in the second degree, no insurance, and an MDOC hold was placed on him for probation violation.

In a Facebook post, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the Bruce Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a white Toyota Camry. Gregory was behind the wheel.

When Gregory saw the blue lights, he allegedly sped off and refused to stop.

Calhoun County deputies picked up the chase when
Gregory headed south on Highway 9 towards Calhoun City.

he eventually turned toward Big Creek on County Road 306.

The sheriff’s post says he reached speeds in excess of 100 mph.

He stopped at the Yalobusha Boat ramp where Sheriff Greg Pollan took him into custody.
