Open house held for new Lowndes County Career and Tech Center
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – It was an exciting day for educators in Lowndes County. The new Lowndes County Career and Tech Center is officially open.
State and local leaders came together for Tuesday’s ribbon cutting of the new facility that’s set to open this fall.
Lowndes County Superintendent Lynn Wright says that vocational education is a priority for the district.
“I want to see all of our students in the Columbus Municipal School District, the Lowndes County School District, and the private school area all of those we want to see all of them rise,” said Lynn Wright.
The Career Center is part of a $44 million bond, passed in 2015 that also helped to build the new New Hope High School and Caledonia Elementary School.
