Panel Recommends Takeover Of Three MS School Districts

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Three weeks after the Mississippi Department of Education released its state rankings, a panel is recommends a state takeover for several districts including Noxubee County.

Noxubee County School District received an “F” for the second year in row.

Today, November 8, a panel at the Mississippi Department of Education announced Noxubee County, Humphrey’s County and Jackson school districts face a state takeover due to poor academic performance.

The board is set to make a decision in December.

Noxubee County Superintendent Roger Liddell was not available for a comment.
