Police respond to two reported shootings in same night

COLUMUBS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two separate shooting investigations are currently ongoing in Columbus. Gunfire erupted in two different locations Thursday night.

The first shooting was just after 8 p.m.

Police were dispatched, to the intersection of 15th Avenue North, and 22nd Street. Investigators found multiple shell casings on scene.

Police interviewed witnesses, and combed through the area, trying to piece together what happened.

Chief Fred Shelton said they’re still trying to determine, exactly who fired the gunshots and why.

Investigators are also looking into another shooting incident in the Friendly City

Police found more shell casings from reported shootings at the Country Air Apartments on North Lehmberg Road.
