Possible School Takeover

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A big decision is now on hold for Noxubee County Schools.

Mississippi’s Board of Education voted to delay their ruling on whether to place the district under state control.

Some board members stated they felt uncomfortable voting on the takeover before they knew who would act as superintendent.

The board plans to decide on the fates of Humphreys and Noxubee county school districts later, ruling out Jackson.

All three districts are up for a possible takeover because they were ranked F academically, two years in a row.
