Property protection tip: Dispose of gift packaging to prevent theft
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – With the holiday season coming to a close, your house may be filled with boxes of Christmas trash.
Before you discard those boxes to the curbside it’s important to make sure your trash isn’t advertised to thieves.
Seeing boxes of new electronics or other expensive items on the curb can make you a target for burglary.
When discarding garbage, be sure to break down all boxes.
This will help with trash pile up and displaying items you received over the last few days.
Consider not throwing all boxes out on the next garbage pick-up day or taking boxes to be recycled.
