Rebels Hope Experience Give An Edge In Oxford Regional

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — For the second time in three seasons, Ole Miss softball will host a NCAA Tournament regional.

The accomplishment is the new normal for Ole Miss, even with this marking only the second time the program has hosted a regional.

The last time, in 2017, Ole Miss won its regional, defeating North Carolina and advancing to the program’s first Super Regional. Three players remain on the Rebels roster from that historic season: Kylan Becker, Brittany Finney, and Kaylee Horton.

“You can’t take anything away from the importance of postseason experience,” head coach Mike Smith said.

“It’s about using their leadership to really let the others know what it’s going to be like. I know that’s a conversation that they’ve already had with their teammates… We’ve played in front of some big crowds this season so its not something they haven’t experience before.”

Ole Miss begins postseason play against Chattanooga at 6 PM CT in Oxford.
