Record Tampering Investigation Underway At MSU

MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. (WCBI) – A former MSU student is at the center of federal, state and local record tampering investigation at Mississippi State.

Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter says the cast started with MSU PD back in December.

The alleged tampering involves students and faculty.

At this time, Salter says investigators believe it is a relatively isolated incident in the number of people involved.

Law enforcement believe a device was used to obtain a password that lead to facilitating the tampering.

MSU believes it could be weeks before all evidence has been thoroughly examined.

There have been no arrests in the case.
