REPORT: Baker Leaving to Join Saban’s Staff

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) —  Consistency is short-lived for the Mississippi State football program.

Rivals.com first reported that defensive line coach Brian Baker will be leaving to join Nick Saban’s staff.

This comes as a huge surprise after reports stating both Baker and Bob Shoop signed two-year contract extensions about a week ago.

Baker helped lead the Bulldogs defense to a number one defensive ranking in the country.

He also marks the second assistant coach to leave MSU to go to Alabama within the past month.

The other coach being former running backs coach Charles Huff.
