REPORT: Hugh Freeze Meets with Nick Saban and Alabama on Monday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WCBI) — One former football coach from the Magnolia State could be returning to the sidelines in the near future.

According to Aaron Suttles of The Tuscaloosa News, former Ole Miss head football coach Hugh Freeze met with Nick Saban and Alabama for a potential job on the Crimson Tide football coaching staff, potentially for the open offensive coordinator position with the Tide.

In the report, Suttles writes that Nick Saban has always had a “healthy respect for Freeze”. Saban is looking for his fourth offensive coordinator in the last 14 months following the departure of Brian Daboll.

If Freeze is hired as an assistant coach, his NCAA sanctioned 2-game suspension will not apply as he will be an assistant coach and not a head coach.
