REPORT: Mississippi State to Retain Head Coach Joe Moorhead

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead is officially 2-0 in the Egg Bowl.

Leading up to the rivalry game there was plenty of chatter on what losing the match-up to a struggling Ole Miss team would mean for the Bulldog head coach.

For now, it seems that Moorhead is safe in Starkville.

First reported by Steve Robertson of 247sports/genespage.com, sources from Mississippi State saying that the administration will retain Moorhead for a third season.

Moorhead faced a tumultuous year, featuring suspensions due to NCAA violations as well as a list of player injuries.

The second year head coach finishing the regular season, 6-6, now awaits bowl game selection.

Mississippi State has yet to release official confirmation of Moorhead’s status with the program.
