Robbery suspect found dead

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)- An Oxford strong armed robbery suspect is found dead.

Now, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.

Oxford police say the report of the strong armed robbery happened just after 10 a.m. Friday morning, near Hathorn Road.

A police K9 tracked the man to an area between Oxford Square Townhomes and a shopping center on West Jackson Avenue.

The unidentified suspect was found unresponsive.

OPD says because officers were in the area and a K9 was involved, MBI was called in to investigate.
