Scuffle During Lowndes County Arrest Leads To More Charges

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An armed robbery and kidnapping suspect refused to take his arrest lightly. Now he’s facing more charges.

Lavenancho Fox Jr., 19, is charged with Assault on an Officer and Possession of Marijuana, both misdemeanors.

He’s also being charged with a Felony Possession of Cocaine.

Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force agents attempted to stop a vehicle Fox was driving.

Investigators say Fox tried to run and when agents caught up with him there was a struggle, where an agent was hit in the face.

Fox escaped but was eventually captured about six blocks away.

Law enforcement say they found crack and powder cocaine, along with marijuana and cash inside the car Fox was driving.

Columbus police have yet to release any information on Fox’s armed robbery and kidnapping charges.
