Search ongoing for Noxubee County escaped inmate

MACON, Miss. (WCBI)- Law enforcement continue looking for an inmate from the Noxubee County Community Work Center.

Darrell Jamal Harper, 20, jumped the fence at the facility yesterday afternoon.

Harper is about 5’7″ tall and 175 pounds.

He was last seen wearing green striped pants, white shirt and a MDOC jacket.

Harper was in jail was serving time for two burglary convictions and was set to be released in a few weeks.

The search for Harper resumed Wednesday morning.

He could be traveling in a yellow mustang with a Benton County Tag.

Macon Police Chief Davine Beck says Harper was cleaning the building and then went outside for more supplies.

That’s when he made a dash for freedom.

This is the second time in less than a month an inmate has escaped from the MDOC run facility.

If you know where Harper is tonight, call 911. He is considered dangerous.
