STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The entire Mississippi State baseball community found itself in the national spotlight in June. With the Bulldogs reaching the College World Series final, every aspect of the team, and its fans, from the Bench Mobb to all the cowbells, was all over national TV.

Six Bulldogs have signed professional contracts and Hunter Renfroe still has time to ink a deal with the Padres.

Adam Frazier is going pro. The junior had a decision to make after the Pirates taking him in the sixth round. He’s playing for Pittsburgh’s Class A team, the Jamestown Jammers. He was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in their last game on July 4. Frazier hit .352 this season with the Bulldogs and led the SEC in at-bats.

Two pitchers sign with the Toronto Blue Jays. Relief pitcher Chad Girodo’s nine wins were the seventh-most in the SEC this year and he ranked eighth in strikeouts in the conference with 82.

Pitcher Kendall Graveman’s eight wins were the eighth-best in the SEC this year. He finished with a 3.09 ERA and pitched the fourth-most innings in the conference.

Luis Pollorena has signed with the Texas Rangers. He ended the year with a 6-4 record on the mound.

Fellow pitcher Evan Mitchell signs with the Cincinnati Reds. He’s been assigned to the Arizona Reds in the Arizona Rookie league. He had a 3.74 ERA this season.

Utility player Daryl Norris signs with the Detroit Tigers. He didn’t play much this season, appearing in under 40 games and hitting .219.

Outfielder Hunter Renfroe is the only player not to sign so far. He hit .345 with an SEC-best 16 homeruns and also led the conference in total bases. Renfroe was drafted in the first round with the 13th overall pick by the San Diego Padres.

There’s no word yet on the other graduating seniors and if they’ll play somewhere: Trey Porter, Mitch Slauter, Sam Frost and Nick Ammirati.

The deadline to sign is July 12 at 4 p.m.
