Special Delivery From Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Elementary school students in Columbus are making sure less fortunate children in other countries have gifts during the holiday season.

Students from Fairview Elementary and Annunciation Catholic School dropped off shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items at the collection center for “Operation Christmas Child.”

The center has been collecting the gift boxes all week to be sent to children living in poverty overseas. Before they load the boxes for shipping, local volunteers gather to pray over the gifts and for the children who will receive them.

If you’d like to donate a gift box, volunteers will collect them thru Monday at the Boy Scout Den at the Farmers Market in Columbus.
