Spring time can bring unwelcome guests into your home

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s that time of year.

Pest are starting to be more active and getting into your home.

With these warmer temperatures and all the rain, we’ve seen more bugs are trying to find a cooler place to live.

Standing water is an attraction for most flying insects to lay eggs and populate.

Check your house and secure any open pathway. This can help reduce the chance of bugs finding a way in.

Put down a sticky trap to see what kind of pest problem you’re having before buying any “kill-off products.”

“Maybe a crack – spiders, roaches things like that have access to the house you know. Alot of people this time of year having trouble with flying insect, wasps stuff like that so just kind of making sure that all you know all the around the eves and inside the home the cracks are sealed up,” said pest technician Scott Walters.

Walters said contacting a professional is often the best way to deal with your pest situations.
