Starkville Man Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A jury finds a Starkville man guilty of second degree murder and drug trafficking.

Police charged 21-year-old Skylar O’Kelly in March of 2014, after 22-year-old Thomas Rodenbaugh was found unresponsive at a home on Nash Street in Starkville.

Investigators say Rodenbaugh had taken synthetic LSD that he bought from O’Kelly.

District Attorney Scott Colom tells WCBI the jury made right decision.

“The judge followed the law and the jury applied the facts of the law, and justice was served, and it sends a signal that selling dangerous drugs like synthetic LSD, and it kills somebody, you can face a severe punishment for that,” Colom said.

O’Kelly will be sentenced Friday at 10 a.m.
