Starkville Mayor present a mandate for city employees to be vaccinated to the board of alderman

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – At least one Golden Triangle town is considering mandating its employees be vaccinated.

Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill says she plans to bring the matter to the board of aldermen.

Spruill tells WCBI she waited until the Pfizer vaccine was approved by the FDA before wanting to push the idea forward.

Some city employees have reached out to WCBI complaining about the proposal.

As of now, this is only an idea.

The board of aldermen is scheduled to meet on September 7th.

Spruill has not decided if a special meeting could be called next week to discuss the matter.
