Starkville teen charged with attempted murder turns himself in

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Starkville teen turned himself in, late last night, after a shooting.

De’Anthony Carpenter, 17, has been charged with attempted murder.

Starkville police said the shooting happened on Catherine Street, on Monday afternoon.

Investigators believed a fight happened between Carpenter and the unidentified victim before the gunfire.

The man that was shot was later airlifted to a hospital out of the area and is reported as being stable.

Carpenter remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
