Stolen skidder causes police chase in Pickens County

PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – A stolen logging skidder led to a police chase in Pickens County, Alabama.

Terry Lee, 31, of Tuscaloosa, was arrested after a 20-mile chase.

Pickens County Sheriff David Abston said the skidder was spotted near Aliceville High School around 6:15 a.m. Thursday after being reported stolen just after 5 a.m.

Lee allegedly would not stop for police when they attempted to pull him over. Officers had a log truck sit across at the intersection of Benevola Road and County Road 2. Lee was captured by police after having to stop for the log truck around 7:11 a.m.

Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, Reform Police Department, Gordo Police Department and Green County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the chase.
