Student Registration Open For Kids Entering K – 2nd Grades In 2016-17 School Years

OXFORD, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – Oxford School District students entering kindergarten through second grade next school year can start registering for school now.
Student registration for the 2016-2017 school year is now open for all, both new and returning, students who are entering kindergarten through second grade (K-2) next school year.
Parents must complete their children’s registration process before they are considered enrolled in the Oxford School District for the 2016-2017 school year.
The school registration process for students entering kindergarten through second grade includes two simple steps:
  1. Online student registration must be completed at www.oxfordsd.org/registration.
  2. Parents must drop off required student registration documents to the OSD Student Registration Department March 21-25, 2016, at the 409 Washington Avenue office daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A list of required registration documents is listed online at www.oxfordsd.org/registration.
The OSD Student Registration Department offers computers and technology support weekdays for families who need access to these services at no cost. The office is located at 409 Washington Avenue in Oxford, Mississippi, and is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed for Spring Break March 14-18, 2016.

Parents must provide required student registration documents for their K-2 students to register for the 2016-2017 school year in the Oxford School District. School officials use the required registration documents to determine if a child lives in the Oxford School District.
Required student registration documents* for K-2 students include:
  1. Any one (1) of the following documents is needed to prove residency:
  • Mortgage document
  • Property deed
  • Filed Homestead Exemption Application form
  • Apartment or home lease with expiration date
  • Any other residency document that will establish that the parent or legal guardian resides within the Oxford School District
2. Two (2) of these documents must also be provided to prove residency. (Note: The parent or legal guardian’s name and address must be the same on any of these documents that are provided to school officials.)
  • Utility bills (water, gas or electricity) dated on December 2015 or January 2016. Two different utility bills can be used; for example, a water and gas utility bill.
  • Valid Mississippi Driver’s License or Mississippi Identification Card
  • Personal visit by a designated school district official
  • Any other residency document that will establish that the parent or legal guardian resides within the Oxford School District
3. Certified copy of student’s birth certificate
4. Student’s updated immunization record (Mississippi Immunization 121 Form)
*Any document with a post office box as an address will not be accepted by school officials.
