Surprise At Carver Elementary

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A big surprise rolled into Carver Elementary School in Tupelo this morning, December 15.

Academy Sports and Outdoors donated bikes and helmets to 30 students.

The students were rewarded for perfect attendance, good grades, and good behavior.

This is all a part of the store’s annual bike donation.

“We try and continue to have an active mindset, that’s our philosophy for the kids and enjoy the outdoors, and we get to do that by the kids exceeding in the classroom, by academics, good behavior, also through perfect attendance. It’s a great time fir us to enjoy the holidays, and we’re excited we could do this for everybody,” says Alex Stratton of Academy Sports.

Academy Sports and Outdoors will donate more than 250,000 in youth bikes and helmets to more than 5,000 students this year.
