Teams Pick More Area Players In Final Day Of MLB Draft

SECAUCUS, N.J. (WCBI Sports) – Teams drafted more potential future pros in the third and final day of the MLB Draft Saturday. Below is a list of guys with ties to Mississippi State, Ole Miss or northeast Mississippi who are picked Saturday.

Four MSU players and three Ole Miss players are taken in the first two days of the draft. Eleven current Bulldogs and six current Rebels are taken in the draft overall.

11th Round (pick 235): RHP Zac Houston (MSU junior) – Detroit Tigers

11th Round: (pick 323): RHP Chad Smith (Ole Miss junior) – Miami Marlins

12th Round (pick 371): RHP Douglas Ashcraft (MSU high school signee) – LA Dodgers

13th Round (pick 388): RHP Brady Bramlett (Ole Miss junior) – Boston Red Sox

13th Round (pick 390): 1B Nathaniel Lowe (MSU junior) – Tampa Bay Rays

13th Round (pick 392): C Gavin Collins (MSU junior) – Cleveland Indians

13th Round (pick 404): LHP Wyatt Short (Ole Miss junior) – Chicago Cubs

18th Round (pick 553): LHP Vance Tatum (MSU junior) – Kansas City Royals

18th Round (pick 556): RHP Austin Sexton (MSU junior) – St. Louis Cardinals

19th Round (pick 564): CF AJ Brown (Starkville HS, Ole Miss football signee) – SD Padres

20th Round (pick 606): C Jack Kruger (MSU junior) – LA Angels

23rd Round (pick 704): SS Delvin Zinn (Pontotoc HS, ICC freshman) – Chicago Cubs

26th Round (pick 774): SS Grae Kessinger (Oxford HS, Ole Miss signee) – SD Padres

36th Round (pick 1072): RHP Brady Schanuel (Ole Miss JUCO commit) – Oakland A’s

36th Round (pick 1092): C Dustin Skelton (Mag. Heights HS, MSU signee) – Tor. Blue Jays
